Style Meets Soiree Guest Post: Spring Tablescape

Happy Sunday everyone! Today I’m sharing a special guest post with you, from my friend Kara! Her entertaining and decor blog Style Meets Soiree is such a source of light and bright inspiration, and I love seeing what she creates! Today she’s sharing her spring tablescape with you – full of beautiful tulips, thoughtful details and fun Easter touches. Check out her post below, and be sure to follow her on Instagram (@stylemeetssoiree)!

Spring is the time of year when nature gets a makeover, so why shouldn’t your tablescape get one as well? Spring is the best time of year to use bright, fun colors to decorate your tablescape. Which is why I decided to decorate this table using pops of my favorite spring colors!

With Easter being the first holiday of the season, it’s also the great time to bring out a few of your Easter decorations to incorporate into your design.

Tulips are the perfect flower to decorate with at this time of year because they just scream “spring”, don’t they?! I decided to use bunches of tulips in bright spring colors at the center of my table in two oversized glass hurricanes.

I also love to pull out my favorite peony dinnereware from Q Squared for entertaining at this time of year, which I decided to use for my place setting for this tablescape. The whitewashed hyacinth placemat gives the setting a natural, earthy feel.

To add a touch of ”Easter” without going over the top, I scattered embellished easter eggs down the center of my table and around the flower vases. I then tied white starched hemstitch linen napkins with satin ribbon in a sun drenched peony hue at each of the place settings for the final touch.

I hope that you have fun and enjoy giving your table a makeover. Whether you decide to go over the top with bright spring colors or not, the important thing is that decorating your table is entirely up to you! So don’t be afraid to get creative!

More Magic For Less Money: Beautiful Bargain Holiday Decor

I love decorating for the holidays! As a kid the Christmas season seemed to start on the day we got our Christmas tree. My dad would turn on the Christmas music for the first time in 11 months, my mom would put out some homemade cookies and snacks, and we would all help to hang ornaments on the tree. It was so much fun, and now I see decorating the house for Christmas as a way to kick off the season.

That being said, holiday decor can also get pretty pricey, pretty fast! So today I’m sharing with you some fun and festive Christmas decor that won’t break the bank. I also included, at the end, some of my favorite investment pieces. These are items with a bit of a higher price point, but things that I’ve owned for years and I know stand the test of time.

Autumn Decor to Spice Up Your Fall!

Anyone else feeling especially ready for all things autumn? Fall is definitely my favorite season, but this year I’m way more excited than usual! I can’t wait to get our house all decorated in pumpkin and harvest decor, take out the warm cozy blankets and bake some pumpkin goodies! (By the way, for all the fall feels, check out my pumpkin spice latte cupcake recipe!)

Today I’ve rounded up some of my favorite fall decor pieces for this year.  I’m so excited to share them with you, and hopefully spread some fall frenzy! So grab some hot apple cider, cozy up, and let’s dive right in!

These little mini pumpkins are so cute! I can’t wait to set these up as a sweet and easy centerpiece on our table this fall. This year I’ve been loving the dusty blue pumpkin trend, so I think this orange, cream and blue pumpkin trio is perfect.

I love a good fall wreath, and this one is especially cute! It’s so fun and whimsical, and I love the colors of the berries against the leaves. If nothing else, I at least try to get a wreath up for each season because I think they make homes look that much more inviting. You might have caught on my Instagram stories that I accidentally left our Christmas wreath up until July, so I’m being extra sure to get my summer wreath replaced with this fall one haha!

These fall leaf plates give me all the warm fuzzy fall feels! I love adding seasonal salad plates to my tablescapes. They’re easy to put on top of my usual dinner plates, but don’t take much room to store during the off-season. Also, how cute would these look on the table with those mini pumpkins above??

Pillows are such an easy and fun way to add a little fall spirit to the home. I’ve been a little obsessed with buffalo check lately, and I love this white and grey buffalo check pillow! Of course I’m also game for anything pumpkin, so this adorable pumpkin pillow is pretty hard to pass up too, and they would look so perfect together!

I’m a sucker for Pendleton blankets. They are such high quality, and they make the prettiest designs. These blankets really do last a lifetime (my parents have some of these blankets and we cuddled in them my entire childhood, and still do!). Since they’re more of an investment item for me, I’m personally choosing this design because it’s so classic and will never go out of style! But you guys, I just came across this Harry Potter collection on their site, and I literally squealed out loud. So someone please tell my husband this blanket is what I want for my birthday haha! I’m dying!

Charlotte’s Nursery

Ok y’all, I am JUST now sharing pictures of Charlotte’s nursery. I know, I know, she’s 9.5 months old and it’s hardly a “reveal” at this point. Oh well, you win some you lose some!

At the beginning of my pregnancy I said that I wanted a neutral nursery, regardless of gender. Well, that all went zooming out the window the minute I found out we were having a girl. Suddenly I was searching for everything pink and floral I could get my hands on!

I loved putting together this special space for Charlotte. I wanted it to be warm, cozy and feminine, but also didn’t want it to feel overwhelmingly “pink”.

This crib is from Pottery Barn, and I like how simple it is. The nursery furniture trend right now seems to be dark wood, but I opted for white because I wanted the space to be classic and bright. Unfortunately this crib isn’t available anymore, but I also love this option. To be quite honest I love pretty much anything Pottery Barn puts out!

Since we don’t have a ton of space, I knew her dresser would need to double as a changing table. I love that this one has the raised edge too, so our little basket of diapering supplies doesn’t constantly get pushed off the edge.

Can I just say too, that little basket is worth its weight in gold. Especially now that Charlotte’s so active and diaper changes are like wrestling an alligator, having all the supplies right at hand is so helpful!

By far, my two favorite items in Charlotte’s room are the floral “C” and mobile which I got off of Etsy. Along with the curtains, those pieces are what give her room a more feminine vibe. The little flowers on the mobile dance around at the slightest breeze, and Charlotte is mesmerized by it.

When it came to the rocking chair/glider, I had literally no idea what I wanted. I was so intimidated by all the different choices out there. I didn’t want to spend a fortune on a chair, but after reading tons of reviews I learned that you get what you pay for in rocking chairs. I have to say that this chair is worth every penny. It’s incredibly comfortable and sturdy, and I love that it has a footstool.

The last project was her closet. I wanted as much storage as possible, but also wanted everything to be accessible. The shelf I’d seen used in so many different ways, and I like that I could personalize it a little bit with the storage bins. You can find storage bins like the ones I have from really anywhere. I really like this and this design for a more natural color palette.
